It’s been one crazy year for us all involved in constructing a new home. Things took longer than initially thought (as it has been the case for everyone), and there has been stress and tears... but it has all been worth it for one amazing end product.

We can’t thank Brad and his team enough. Brad has been a pleasure to deal with throughout our build process. There was never a question he considered too trivial, and he was always there for guidance and reassurance (even with some hair pulling last minute design doubts/changes). That man has the patience of a saint. He has been so accommodating, and supportive.

We would like to compliment and thank the team he has behind him, who’s silent work does not go unnoticed. From admin staff politely answering a million questions without complaint, to trades who’s craftsmanship stands above others; the whole crew did a fantastic job. As a first home builder who had viewed every display home, I came up with some ideas of what I wanted. A basic drawing of mine was easily transformed into a custom-designed house plan by Peter. Peter was so knowledgeable and able to put my ideas into place, alongside tips to make the home liveable which is most important. I chose Keir Constructions because they were always willing to assist me to put my own vision into place. 

The team at Keir were more than happy to accommodate any change I wanted during the build, such as extra powerpoints or changing doors. Graham and Brad were excellent to deal with and happy to assist in any way they could. I appreciated their support throughout the building process. Keir Constructions are the most popular builder in my area, and for good reason. They have created an amazing modern build that I cannot wait to live in for many years to come.

In 2015 we decided to built our dream house with Keir Constructions. Firstly we met the Keir team at one of their display homes. We had our own unique design and requirements with special needs. From the start the team listened and made helpful suggestions. They were clear with all the inclusions and exclusions which meant that their were no surprises later on.
 
Throughout the build they send us constant updates and the team was happy for us to go through the house whenever required. The communication between the office and onsite team was very well done which ment we did 't have to worry about anything. The onsite team included us with all the detailed decisions and understood our special situation.
 
Even after the build, Brad and his team have been amazing. Any defects or concerns we had were quickly rectified.

With a well educated family background in construction and renovations, we knew exactly what we wanted in a builder as we walked through numerous display homes. Then we found Keir. 

From the very start Keir Constructions were amazing! To say the least we were very ‘needy’ customers. We moved walls, air conditioners and changed the whole layout of the master bedroom. We added extras then took them out, then re added them again. Keir were so patient and so helpful in every single way. NOTHING was too much trouble!

As first home owners, we were nervous for the process of building a house. Keir had everything covered, all we needed to do was reply to emails, they organised every meeting, in times that suited us! 

The build was the best part of all, we had a key from day dot and could visit our house when ever we pleased, we watched the AMAZING happen. Although price is always a major factor, our decision to build was not based upon price alone. For us, making a decision on price alone never really guaranteed we would make a good choice, in fact, we usually found it quickly became a "bad" choice! We wanted the best "value" for our money and "value" was evident from Day One in our decision to build with Brad Keir of Keir Constructions.

We built with Keir Constructions because we wanted to deal with someone like Brad who owned the business, not a salesman who overpromised and undelivered because they have no control over the building process. From our first meeting with Brad he was so thoroughly genuine and honest.

As the house was being built, our decision to go with Keir Constructions became more and more justified with the ease, efficiency and quality at each stage of the project.

We can only describe Brad's organisational skills as "impeccable"!, and when we were told what was going to happen, it actually happened exactly when we were told it would happen! As we knew what to expect over coming weeks this helped us to make sure we were organised for Brad also.

When we hear of our friends/colleagues house building "horror" experiences with other larger builders, we were so relieved not to have experienced the same lack of interest, concern or drama. We were constantly amazed at just how easy it all went.

We would like to thank Gavin Edwards of Keir Constructions. Gavin supervised construction of the house also. We found Gavin could not do enough for us and shared Brad's eye for detail. Nothing was ever too much trouble during the process.

We wanted to build a new home and thought a quick look through the North Shore Display village would be a great place to start.  We walked through all 20+ homes and immediately knew that Keir would be our builder the minute we walked through their display homes.  It was evident the quality and value for money was there and Brad was already racking up a nice collection of HIA awards.  The entire process from design modifications to colour selections and choosing fixtures and fittings was arranged well and completed easily.   The communication was great and we felt fully informed of the progress of the build.  Brad’s team worked together to make us feel supported throughout the process and the house was completed on time.  Last minute alterations were incorporated without complaint and Keir Constructions worked with our other contractors to incorporate the shed and pool into the entire plan.  Brad provided us with a builder’s key which meant we had access to the house throughout the build and right up to handover which instilled even more confidence in me that we were dealing with a builder who had integrity and nothing to hide.  I would recommend Keir Constructions to anyone who wants a quality home built to budget, delivered on time and a stress free experience.

We needed to down size from our large family home to a smaller home which would have some of the features we loved most in our previous home. A spacious lounge, a versatile kitchen and a shade house for our plants. Also we wanted plenty of natural lighting, ease of maintenance, a compact workshop for the handyman and front and rear patios. All of this had to fit on a small block of land which was 368sqmtrs. This seemed a daunting task until we visited two Keir Constructions Display Homes, and although they were not exactly what we were looking for they had many features which we liked and the quality of workmanship was noticeable.

The ball started rolling when we showed them what we would like and within a few visits they came up with a design that met our criteria. Their interest in being able to build our dream home did not end there. They arranged for us to meet with the experts who would be involved in cabinet making, colour co-ordination, lighting, tiling, solar etc. When building neared completion the foreman liaised with us to finalise paving, pathways and landscaping.

Our home was built in 58 working days and at handover we were welcomed by Brad and Sharon who presented us with the keys and some most thoughtful gifts. Keir Constructions have demonstrated true professionalism in each and every aspect of our build. They built for us our beautiful and functional home of which we are immensely proud.

It took us a year to decide where to build our own house and it took us just over a day to decide which builder will complete our lovely first home.

Having a growing family like us, major consideration will be the cost to build. How we ended up with Keir Constructions? We went to a number of builders and made clear of two things. One will be our basic house design requirements. And the most important one is we have a tight budget. Outcome? Most of them would either present something within the budget but not satisfy our design requirement or the other way around. Keir was the last builder we have visited (late Saturday afternoon) yet they were the quickest to come up with a reasonable proposal. Keir obviously is doing something right and they have outdone the rest they definitely nailed it with "A" class! They presented something more than what we were expecting, the best value for our money.

The construction process till the handover was a breeze, everyone was easy to deal with and they really take pride in their work , certainly Brad has an eye for quality.

I have built before and due to that experience, thought I'd never build again. Right from the start my wife Jo and I felt very comfortable with the Keir experience. Our house design was never going to be an easy build; however, nothing was too difficult for these true professionals. The attention to detail by the site supervisors, Gavin and Michael, can not be overstated. It was like they were building their own home. Overall, our house was built on time and the finished product EXCEEDED our expectations.

After meeting with many builders and not quite clicking with any of them, we met Belinda at Keir constructions and instantly I could see that my wife had found a builder that she was comfortable with and from there it wasn't long before I was sold as well. It was such a nice feeling to arrive at our site and see that our building site was neat, tidy and free of rubbish and having a key so that we could access the house to see the progress, it was amazing.

At the end of the build, we got a first class home, excellent service above and beyond what we found anywhere else along with open and honest advice. We would absoloutely build with Keir again.

We found Keir Constructions by chance. We met Telford Louez approx. 3 years ago, when we bought our block of land and decided to build. Life happened and building our dream home was postponed.  So, at the beginning of 2013, we decided to build again and gave Telford’s mobile a call. He was working for Keir Constructions. After purchasing my land in February, the tedious process of meeting with different builders was a task that I really dreaded. From meeting with builders three times just to get a quote and numerous phone calls trying to sell me upgrades, I felt like building my house was becoming my job! When I stumbled across Keir Constructions I emailed Brad and within an hour the process had begun. The next day I met with Brad and he had a quote and unlike all of the other quotes I had… he only took 30 minutes and not 3 hours to go through the quote! I think that was what sold me, the fact that Brad let his competitive quote, drawings and design sell itself!

From then the process was easy, friends and family were surprised at how quickly colours, tiles, fixtures and cabinetry were chosen. Meeting with Anne from the Coloured House was invaluable and her recommendations and knowledge was priceless. All I knew was that I wanted grey (lucky Anne was able to match that with tiles and wall colours because I had no idea!). Meeting with Shane from Bill & Ben was just as easy and I was able to complete it in my lunch break, the best part was being emailed a 3D design of my kitchen and being able to show my friends and family.

After 105 emails, numerous phone calls and only 67 days to build I now live in a house that I love and without hesitation would build with Brad & his team again!

My partner and I had lived together for a few years in two houses and found neither really suited the way we lived. We decided to take the big leap and wanted to get our own house. We knew we wanted to build and we wanted the house of our dreams with a layout that catered to our lifestyle.

We decided to take the big plunge into home ownership and purchased our ideal block of land. After looking through countless display homes and chatting to numerous builders, it was obvious to us that the quality of finish in a Keir built home was second to none. We had a particular floor plan in mind which was unlike any of the current floor plans that Keir Constructions offered, however this was not a problem at all and the team at Keir were able to work with it. Brad and our salesperson Telford were fantastic, they spent a lot of time listening to the requirements we wanted in the home and came up with an even better floor plan than we could have hoped for! Right from the beginning it was perfect! Brad and Telford made sure everything was very transparent and there were no hidden costs. Working with all of Brad’s sub contractors was effortless. They were all very informative and provided plenty of guidance as to best choices for our home. A huge thank you to Shane from Bill and Ben The Cabinet Men, Mark from Mark Graham Electrical and Jason from Indala Interior Design (Brad was very accommodating to us using an Interior Designer of our choice).

Throughout the build Gavin and the team’s attention to details was superb. They were in regular contact with us to make sure everything was just as we wanted as we were very particular. Keir worked hard to get our home completed in order to meet a tight deadline imposed upon us, and the end result was amazing! It was hard to believe our dream home was now a reality. It was exactly as we had pictured it and it was perfect in every way.

Our home was lucky enough to be entered into the HIA awards and it won Best Custom Home under $400,000. This is a testament to Keir and the whole team who helped accomplish this great achievement.

Looking back, to buy land and design and build a home within 7 months was just mind blowing for someone as cautious as myself. From family to friends, they all could not understand why a single mum would want to go through the process of building a new home instead of buying an existing home. To me it was a decision to invest in a superior product that would be delivered as designed to the highest standard, by a builder that I could trust.

I have known Brad for some four years now and in that time have found that he is a man of his word, who tells it as it is. No beating around the bush.

The hardest part was designing what I wanted. Brad showed me several of his plans that may have fitted my wish list and from there, with a few tweaks and changes and Brad’s expertise my "HIA Award Winning Home" came together so easily. Of course you "Always Want More Please Sir" and Brad was too happy to accommodate a few plan changes to see how it fitted into the budget. From there on in, Anne Sanker , The Coloured House and Shane Bloomfield, Bill n Ben The Cabinetmen, guided me through the colour and kitchen selection with ease.

Throughout the building process I had full access to the property to check things were coming together as planned. Sharon kept me up to date with emails on the progress of construction. I only heard from Gavin twice and that was to confirm a couple of minor details on site at the finishing stage. To me this is testimonial to how well planned and organised the team at Keir Construction are.

I have been in my home for five months now and each and everyday I think to myself how lucky I am and how I love my new home.

We initially had gone through all the steps to build our home with another builder, but right before construction was to start, things began to fall apart.  We then walked ourselves into Keir’s Kalynda Chase display home and spoke to Brad about our dilemma with the first builder, to which he gave us some advice and left it with us to consider.  After much deliberation we decided to abandon the plan to rectify the situation with the first builder and we started all over again with Keir.  Our decision was based on the fact that Brad seemed to genuinely care what had happened to us with the first builder and that he wanted to help us get our dream home.

One of the big things that attracted us to Keir was the finishes in the display homes, ie. the rounded corners on the walls, and the high ceilings, to name a couple.  We enjoyed receiving the updates from Sharon on who would be doing what at each stage of the build.  We also liked the fact that we would visit with Bill and Ben the Cabinet Men and design the kitchen to what we wanted and how it would best suit our needs.  Having Anne at the Coloured House to assist us with colours, tiles, carpet, lighting etc was also an added bonus.  We are thankful for their expertise and guidance.  We weren’t given these opportunities with the first builder.

Throughout the build, we had some issues, but they were rectified and done so without any delays to the build.  Prior to lock up stage Brad gave us unlimited access to the build, encouraging us to check out the progress as he believes the more eyes that see something, the better chance of picking up mistakes early.  We also appreciated that once the house reached lock up stage we were given a key, so we could continue to watch it progress.  We are very detail orientated people and went over everything, driving Brad crazy in the meantime!

In closing, Keir Constructions wasn’t our first choice of builder, but should have been!  We have a beautifully built home that we are very happy with.  We wouldn’t hesitate to use Keir Constructions again!

My daughter, Melanie, and I had been looking at display homes in Townsville for quite a while as she was relocating to Townsville from Ingham. We were like babes in the woods as we knew little about building a home or builders and were being super careful to get the best we could afford. Mel was meeting with another builder and was well into the design stage but I was not convinced ... still looking.

I visited a few display homes at Kalynda Chase and stumbled into 64 Kalynda Parade, festooned with HIA Winner flags and similarly signed ute parked out the front. My husband and I walked into the kitchen and were greeted by Brad whom I mistakenly took to be a salesman. He soon put me straight on that one and after a good look around the home, I could see the Keir difference.

From the earliest planning stage, I knew that here was a builder that went out of his way to listen, suggest and implement our plans. Nothing was too much trouble and every detail of the plan was itemised clearly so we knew what we had agreed upon.

As the build progressed, Sharon kept us informed.

Coloured House provided a professional service which enabled Mel free rein to colour and fit out the house. Once again, suggestions were offered and were acted upon.

Shane from Bill and Ben Cabinets was awe inspiring in his knowledge of kitchen design. He came up with a glamorous, practical kitchen which will be the centre of family life.

I can not stress enough the attention to detail given by Brad and his team in the final weeks of the build. I am fussy but my daughter strives for perfection and we could not fault the Keir workmanship. Emails were promptly answered and queries were attended to.

Foliage Solutions created a back garden which exceeded our wildest expectations.

Coming up to 1 year already at our new home, I thought I would touch base to let you know how fantastic we are going in our new home! 

It all began middle of last year when I started the task of trying to find a suitable builder to build our family home.  This was to be my 7th built dwelling and I had previously had nothing but trouble with builders.  We decided to go with Keir Constructions, they made the experience truly enjoyable.  It was the entire team who were a pleasure to deal with at all times, right from their interior decorator Annette, Gavin the building supervisor, Sharon in admin, Shane from Bill and Bens Cabinet men who provided excellent tips for designing our beautiful kitchen and cabinets and Brad Keir the builder himself!  There was also a high quality of workmanship from the entire trades team involved!

I had already done the draft plan and had shopped around and obtained 10 different quotes, not only were Keir the best priced in terms of value for money, but were the best quality and offered the best service.

We often met during the building process and each time they proudly kept us uptodate on the work just completed, the next stage update and to address any questions we might of had at the time.  They really did give extreme attention to detail!   I asked a million questions and everyone always got back to me quickly and kindly!  Nothing was too much trouble!

It was quick build time too! I really didnt believe a home of our size could be built so quickly but it was, in just under 16 weeks as promised! (and thats with a bit of rain in between).

Even on the day of handover they meet us on site and gave us a gift and took photos and really made the day a special one!

And during cyclone Yasi well that wasnt no concern at all!

Just thought I would check in and reiterate that the house is looking absolutely amazing.

You mentioned in a previous email that when locked up, you would need to give Wayne and I a set of keys. I imagine that can't be too far away considering what great pace you and your team is making. Choosing a builder in today's economic climate is half the challenge of building a house. You have to ask yourself questions like,who can we trust? Who provides a quality product? Who will even finish our hosue? I was chatting to a work colleague prior to making that decision and he spoke highly of his experiences with you, knew we were fuss. He even told us "Brad likes a challenge, he will enjoy building your home".

That is what lead us to your office, armed with a scrap piece of paper with a rough floor design, a heap of magazine clippings, a head full of ideas and a budget. We fully expected that something had to give and we could not be so lucky to get it all however we left your office fairly confident with our ideas, pleased we had found our builder.

From word go, you and your team delivered making us feel we were the most important part of the building process. Last time we built, we were locked out watching progress through windows. This time, we were welcomed, provided with a key so we could watch our home evolves from insdie out, adding to the excitement of daily progress.

We were encouraged to meet all our tradesmen in person, which was very pleasing because we were confident throughout the entire process that our expectation were understood and we were getting what we wanted first time.

When we came to meet you Brad, we had a strict time frame, a vivid picture in our minds and a budget. You smashed the time frame, stayed well within budget and far exceeded our expectations. Annette was wonderful to work with and helped us heaps with making decisions on colours, tiles, carpets & blinds etc (we didn't realise how hard it is to try and ‘imagine' your home with colours). You have always been just a phone call or email away. It's been great having someone so approachable and easy to contact and who has been happy to answer some of the silliest questions.

And to actually speak to the person building our home, not an admin member made things flow without difficulty.

The house flew, within 3.5 months we were looking at our new beautiful home. I must say that it's even better than I could've imagined. We have only received compliments from all of our family and friends and I know for a fact that my mum and aunty will be building their next home with you.

Thank you for making this whole experience an enjoyable one and our dream come true. I know we will definitely be building our next home with you !!

First of all I would like to thank you and everyone at Keir Constructions for the completion of my new home. As this is my first home that I have ever owned/build, to say I was extremely nervous is an understatement. I had heard some horror stories of the building trade that made me want to shy away from building.

Making the decision to go and see the house and land package that you had on offer was the best thing I have ever done. My excitement and seeing how lovely the house looked made me feel more comfortable with my decision to build and to use Keir Constructions.

Throughout the whole process and even after completion you and your team have been extremely helpful and most of all, accommodating to my needs and sometimes my silly questions.

The best thing of all was the fact that you picked up on all the little niggling problems in the house which I would not have known or noticed and rectified straight away. There were hardly any to speak of and this can only be attributed to the high quality of workmanship in the building.

Where do we start when we were so impressed with our building experience? When such a fast construction period is mentioned, it is easy to assume that corners were cut and quality was compromised. This could not be further from the truth.

Brad, you have produced a true show-piece for us to be able to call our home with pride, a stunning display of craftsmanship from one of the easiest to deal with builders in Townsville. You have a fantastic team surrounding you that made the entire process that much easier for us, and lets face it, building a new home is not a stress-free experience.
